After extensive testing since early this year, this South Florida school district has entered into an agreement with Melstream Systems to replace the current water treatment equipment consisting of chemical feeds and traditional ion exchange with the company’s revolutionary scale and corrosion prevention media. The transition is slated to be completed by the end of 2006. Once completed, not only will the reduced operating and maintenance costs for the cooling towers and chiller plants benefit the bottom line, but also the fragile Florida ecology will be helped by eliminating the discharge of salt brine into the environment.
